The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins started off a stormy road trip by losing in a shootout to the Worcester Sharks on Friday night 2-1.

The story of the game was Worcester G Thomas Greiss. He made 41 saves on 42 shots in regulation play, including 20 in the final period. In the five rounds of the shootout, only one puck got by him and that one hit the post and deflected away.

The scorers for Worcester were Thomas Plihal (with his first of the year) during regulation on a shorthanded goal and Mike Morris in the shootout.

The lone scorer for Wilkes-Barre was low-scoring defenseman Alain Nasreddine, who tied the game in the third period.

The Penguins next travel through a snow storm to play in Albany tonight. They will close out the road trip in Philadelphia on Sunday.
