The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins extended their win streak to nine games with a New Year’s Eve 6-3 victory over the Norfolk Admirals and another 6-3 victory tonight, this time over the Syracuse Crunch.
On Monday night, LW Chris Minard scored his 12th and 13th goals of the season as the Penguins went up 4-1 and held on for the victory. Pictures from the game are below.

Tonight, Minard kept his hot streak going by tallying his second hat trick of the year as the Penguins came back from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to win a relatively tame rivalry game. Minard’s other hat trick came in an opening-night win over the Hershey Bears.

Wow, looks like WB/S is on a real hot streak! How is Goligoski playing??

Golo has been a big reason why this team is doing so well. In the 12/31 game, I probably should have mentioned that he had 4 assists, including one incredible pass to set up one of Minard’s tallies.
The only thing slowing him down is lack of a consistent partner. WBS has been dressing 7 d-men for a lot of games. Lannon and Nas play together and the other 5 mix and match as the coaches see fit. If he had the same partner and 6 d-men dressed, he would probably see more ice time and be even more productive.
He does still need to bulk up, though, as he gets manhandled along the boards, especially when trying to clear the crease or behind the net in his own zone.
