Penguins Prospect D Alex Goligoski Named To AHL All-Star Team

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins will be represented after all in the AHL’s All-Star Classic. Highly-touted prospect Alex Goligoski was named to the PlanetUSA roster as a replacement. F Jeff Taffe was originally selected, but will miss the event due to his callup to the NHL.
Goligoski, 22, is from Grand Rapids, Minnesota, so he will join the PlanetUSA AHL All-Star team. In 38 games for the WBS Penguins this season, Goligoski has recorded six goals and eight assists for 14 points along with a plus-4 rating. The 6’0”, 178 pound, left-handed shooting defenseman was Pittsburgh’s second-round pick in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
