Topping news around the NHL lately has been the recent activity of GMs trying to get out of no-trade clauses that were reached with their players. The front running story for this has been the on-going struggle between the Toronto Maple Leafs and defenseman Bryan McCabe. I should warn you…use caution reading this article on an empty stomach.
The Pens have traded Ryan Malone and Gary Roberts to Tampa Bay for for a fourth round draft pick in 2009. Should the Lightning sign Malone, the Pens would get a third-rounder instead. It has been obvious for quite some time that neither would be back with the Pens. It’s highly doubtful the Lightning will sign either, but stranger things have happened.
The season maybe over for the Pens, but this site will continue plugging on through the draft and free agency. We made a lot of friends and had a great year sharing with everyone. Check out the story inside.
