Two Roads Diverged Into a Wood...

Two roads diverged into a wood, and I…

I took the one that’s a four lane highway. Thought I was going to continue with cliched Frost there, eh? Wrongo.

No, but the time has come for someone new to take the reigns of the college hockey beat here at Faceoff Factor. You may have noticed that despite a posted schedule of events and writings, my contributions have dropped considerably in the recent weeks. First, I apologize for not adhering to the schedule I outlined at the beginning of summer. It’s not fair to readers to expect publications only to have them not appear or to appear late.

Truth be told, life has intervened. No worries, as I’m perfectly healthy, as is my family. But as a recent college graduate, bills must be paid, family situations must be tended to, and jobs must be pursued. The sum of the parts has become too great to carry, so some enjoyable facets of life must be trimmed to keep afloat.

As you faithful readers are all well aware, Faceoff Factor was and is for the fans by the fans. Yes, we all have our desires in life, and many of us want to write or report for a living. But in the meantime, we write for free, for the pleasure of it.

I still gain tremendous pleasure, but it’s time to step away from Faceoff Factor. I’ll still pop in occasionally – Matt has been kind enough to allow me to be a contributing writer if the mood and time cross paths – but it’s not fair to the college hockey fans to continue. This is an exciting season coming up in college hockey, and you need someone that can devote more energy and time to the beat.

I want to thank Matt and Jesse for bringing me aboard, first to the Blogspot account and then to this brand spanking new webpage. It’s been a tremendous experience, and I look forward to seeing Faceoff Factor continue to develop and expand. I know they’re working on upgrading the site nearly every day, constantly thinking of new ideas and new ways to present information to the readers.

Continue reading, continue being fans, continue offering your views. That’s all that Faceoff Factor has been about, and that’s all it will continue being about. In the meantime, be gentle with whoever shows up on the college hockey beat. Please.

Toodles.

I know I speak for the entire FF staff when I say “Thank you and good luck.” You’ve been a wonderful and unique asset to the site and will be sorely missed. Don’t be a stranger….as you said, FF thrives on comment contributors, and I know I’m not the only one who would love to see your name pop up from time to time!
