NHL 13 announced an online voting contests allowing fans to choose their cover star, and players took to twitter to solicit votes. This could be an interesting thing to keep an eye one, #NHL13COVER

Montreal General Manager Pierre Gauthier was relieved of his duties on Thursday, leaving the organization after being a part of staff since 2003. He was named to general manager in February of 2010. Canadiens owner Geoff Molson is searching for a successor to push forward the franchise.
Lecavalier makes an appearance
After missing 18 games with a broken hand, Tampa Bay Captain Vinny Lecavalier returned to the line up Thursday night against the New Jersey Devils. He spent 17:38 on the ice during the Devils 6-4 defeat of the Bolts, during which Ryan Malone notched a Hat Trick.

Goaltending has been the difference in the Buffalo Sabres most recent matches as they search for the crucial wins needed to hold that eight spot. Ryan Miller has 30 wins in 57 games played this season and he was won His 44 saves on 45 shots against the Caps Tuesday helped the Sabres to overcome Washington with a 5-1 victory. With 1.8 goals against average in his last 28 games, Buffalo will look to this guy to get through their next few game and possibly into a post-season.
What to Watch this Weekend
As post season hockey plummets ever closer, teams are hoping to push forward and capture the precious top eight stops, leaving the others in their peripheral.
Chicago at Nashville, Saturday 8pm
Having already clinched a spot, Nashville is hoping to advance farther in the playoffs than ever in club history. Active around the deadline, this team has sought out acquisitions to help their efforts. Most recently the Preds have grabbed the offense of KHL MVP Alexander Radulov. Chicago is right behind them in the Western standings and although the top spot in the Central Division will likely be awarded to St.Louis, these two opponents still have something to prove.
Boston at New York, Sunday 7pm
Now seated almost comfortably atop the Northeast and Atlantic divisions respectively, last year’s Stanley Cup champions and the front running New York Rangers face off at Madison Square Garden.
